However, it is already evident that the legacy of this pioneering scientist and educator will benefit many generations of researchers worldwide.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s3\"><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">Colleagues and admirers <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">emphasised<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> Higgs&#8217;s profound influence on particle physics: CERN Director<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">&#8211;<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">General Fabiola Gianotti called him an &#8220;immensely inspiring figure,&#8221; while physicist Brian Cox stated that Higgs&#8217;s name will be remembered as long as physics exists.
