The robust, <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">cohesive<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> sound of <\/span><\/span><em><span class=\"s5\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">One More City<\/span><\/span><\/em><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> owes much to a variety of production techniques, the spontaneous nature of creativity, and jam sessions with fellow <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">musicians<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">. The recording process welcomed artists from varied backgrounds, <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">including <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">female<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> rapper Janse<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">t<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">, Cole Alexander <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">of<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> the American garage rock <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">band<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"s5\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">Black Lips<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">, <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">and<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> Clams Baker, the frontman of the London<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">\u2019<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">s<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> post-punk <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">band<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"s5\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">Warmduscher<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s3\"><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">From <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">the outset<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">at fabric, the ambiance veered <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">into<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">the bizzarre<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> as a guitarist, donning oversized pink sunglasses,<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">fit for a child or a woman, joined the Red Axes duo on stage, complemented by guest vocalist A.Lonzo<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">\u2019<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">s presence<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> in a zebra-striped suit and cowboy hat. The sound system roared to life, reaching max<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">\u2014<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">ear-distorting, supersonic levels. Amidst<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> lively <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">guitar riffs and a blend of live drums with analog beats, Dori<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">\u2019<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">s custom bass synthesizer filled the venue with its deep, resonant tones. The departure of live instrumentation and guest performers<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> led to an <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">unexpected<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">dip<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> in<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> zest, save for the relentless intensity of the sound<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">.<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> In hindsight, reversing the order of the concert<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">\u2019<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">s first two acts might have sustained the momentum, particularly as the guest musicians made a comeback for the final thirty minutes. (Their initial abrupt exit left one pondering the unpredictable nature of punk rock performances<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">)<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Red Axes -  Hey\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/nJwetC7pEbg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s2\" style=\"letter-spacing: 0em\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">The climax of the evening was<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"s2\" style=\"letter-spacing: 0em\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">Red Axes<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\" style=\"letter-spacing: 0em\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">\u2019 <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\" style=\"letter-spacing: 0em\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">boldest track <\/span><\/span><em><span class=\"s5\" style=\"letter-spacing: 0em\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">Hey<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s5\" style=\"letter-spacing: 0em\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">,<\/span><\/span><\/em><span class=\"s2\" style=\"letter-spacing: 0em\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> reserved for the<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\" style=\"letter-spacing: 0em\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> grand<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\" style=\"letter-spacing: 0em\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> finale. Following the second chorus, with its memorable <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\" style=\"letter-spacing: 0em\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">lines <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\" style=\"letter-spacing: 0em\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">\u2018<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\" style=\"letter-spacing: 0em\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">I had sand in my mouth and my brain was mashed potatoes, I wanted to flirt with you but all that I could say was<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\" style=\"letter-spacing: 0em\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">\u2026 <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\" style=\"letter-spacing: 0em\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">hey,<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\" style=\"letter-spacing: 0em\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">\u2019<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\" style=\"letter-spacing: 0em\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> A.Lonzo plunged <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\" style=\"letter-spacing: 0em\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">into the sea of fans,<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\" style=\"letter-spacing: 0em\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> a<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\" style=\"letter-spacing: 0em\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> microphone in one hand<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\" style=\"letter-spacing: 0em\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">, <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\" style=\"letter-spacing: 0em\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">a bottle of spirited liquid in the other, all while his cowboy hat<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"s2\" style=\"letter-spacing: 0em\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">miraculously defied gravity.
