What was the moment that made you believe clothing could do more than cover the body, that it could actually interact with it?

Resonance began with my dad. My dad was living with Parkinson’s, and like any son, I was searching for anything that might improve his quality of life. At the same time, I was going through my own transformation. I was trying to become a better person, a better father to my young daughter, and I was questioning many aspects of my life. I was more open than ever to learning and seeing the world differently.

By chance, I took my daughter to a conscious kids’ event, where I met a woman speaking about how naturally occurring minerals had been used to support the body for many years. That conversation sparked my curiosity and sent me on a journey I never expected.

After seeing positive changes in my dad’s experience, I became determined to understand why. Rather than simply accepting it, I spent years working alongside scientists and people who had dedicated decades to understanding the properties of natural minerals. Together, we explored how these materials interact with the body’s bioelectrical system, including research into far infrared technology, nervous system regulation, and how the body responds in different environmental conditions, including electromagnetic exposure.

The goal was simple, to find a way to incorporate this technology into clothing people could wear every day. When that breakthrough finally happened, something remarkable followed. Athletes, everyday people, and individuals living with neurological conditions and mobility challenges began sharing their own experiences. Those stories reinforced my belief that clothing could do far more than simply cover the body. That’s how Resonance was born.

Your brand sits somewhere between performance wear, wellness, science, and futuristic design. How do you define Resonance in one sentence, and what category are you trying to create?

Resonance is an Energy Wear brand creating clothing designed to work in harmony with the body’s natural systems, helping people feel better first so they can move better, recover better, and perform at their best. I believe we’re creating an entirely new category. Just as compression changed sportswear, I believe Energy Wear represents the next evolution of apparel. Clothing shouldn’t simply cover the body. I believe it should actively support it.

Mineral-infused fabric is still a new concept for many consumers. What was the biggest challenge in turning a scientific idea into a product people can understand, trust, and feel?

The biggest challenge has been explaining something that’s genuinely new. People don’t want a lesson in physics. They simply want to know, “How will this help me?” That’s why we’ve focused on education, independent testing, and listening carefully to the people wearing our products.

We never ask people to blindly believe us. We encourage them to understand the science, experience the products for themselves, and decide based on how they feel. Trust comes from transparency and consistency.

You often speak about balance, recovery, circulation, and energy. In a market full of wellness claims, how do you build credibility without overpromising?

We stay disciplined. We don’t talk about curing conditions or making unrealistic promises. Our focus is on supporting the body’s natural systems. We’re continuing to invest in research around the body’s bioelectrical communication, nervous system regulation, far infrared technology, and how our garments perform under different environmental conditions, including electromagnetic exposure. Where we have evidence, we talk about it. Where research is still evolving, we’re honest about that too. That’s how trust is built.

The brand’s message is “not overstimulation, but working with the body.” Why is that distinction important in today’s performance culture?

Modern life constantly asks us to do more. More caffeine. More stimulation. More stress. More pressure. I believe the body is incredibly intelligent. Often it doesn’t need more input, it simply needs better support. Everything we’ve created is designed to work with the body’s natural systems rather than trying to override them. When you support the body properly, better movement, recovery, and performance naturally follow.

What surprised you most when people first started testing Resonance products? Was there a reaction or story that changed how you saw the brand’s potential?

The consistency. People from completely different backgrounds started describing very similar experiences. Feeling more stable. Recovering better. Feeling more balanced. Moving with greater confidence. What has been especially humbling is hearing from people living with neurological conditions, chronic pain, and mobility challenges. Resonance wasn’t created as a medical product, but hearing those stories reinforced my belief that what we’re building could have applications far beyond sport. Those conversations continue to shape where we invest our research.

Performance apparel has traditionally focused on compression, fabric quality, and aesthetics. Do you believe the next frontier is clothing that actively supports the body’s natural systems?

Absolutely. Every generation of apparel has evolved. First it was better materials. Then moisture management. Then compression. I believe the next generation is clothing that supports how the body naturally functions. We spend almost every waking hour wearing clothes. If clothing can positively interact with the body’s natural systems, that’s an enormous opportunity. I genuinely believe Energy Wear will become its own category.

How do you balance the futuristic science behind Resonance with the emotional side of the brand, the feeling of being more grounded, stable, and connected to movement?

The science explains how it works. The human stories explain why it matters. I never set out to create clever fabric. I wanted to help my dad. Today, our mission is much bigger than that. Whether it’s helping an elite athlete find marginal gains, someone recovering from exercise, or someone who simply wants to move through life with greater confidence, the purpose is exactly the same. The science gives us credibility. The people give us purpose.

If Resonance succeeds at scale, could this technology change not only sportswear, but everyday clothing, rehabilitation, and wellness lifestyles?

That’s exactly where I see the future. Sport is simply the beginning because athletes are often early adopters of innovation. But my vision has always been much bigger than performance apparel. I see opportunities in everyday clothing, healthy ageing, recovery, workplace wear, and wellbeing. If clothing can genuinely support how people feel and move, there’s no reason those benefits should stop when someone leaves the gym. We’re still only at the beginning of that journey.

Ten years from now, do you want Resonance to be remembered as a fashion brand, a performance brand, or the company that changed what people expect clothing to do?

People often ask whether I want Resonance to become a fashion brand or a performance brand. The truth is, I don’t really think of us as either. I want Resonance to be remembered as the company that changed what people expect clothing to do. At the end of the day, I didn’t start this company to sell clothes. I started it because I wanted to help my dad.

Today, that mission is much bigger. It’s about helping people live better, whether that’s an elite athlete chasing marginal gains, someone recovering from injury or navigating a health challenge, or someone who simply wants to feel stronger, more balanced, and more confident in everyday life. I believe everyone deserves the opportunity to feel and function at their best. If, in ten years’ time, Resonance has helped redefine what clothing can do while helping millions of people live better, then I’ll feel we’ve achieved what we set out to do.

Clothing has long ceased to serve merely as protection from the cold or a means of expressing personal style.
