Wellness at Cloud Twelve: when the body begins to heal itself

Wellness at Cloud Twelve: when the body begins to heal itself

We often hear that we must love ourselves. Amid the chaos of the city, surrounded by problems and constant motion, it’s easy to forget to pause, listen to your inner voice, recharge, and keep going. Yes – learning to love yourself is an art. And to explore it, we went straight to the heart of Notting Hill – to the unique wellness club, Cloud Twelve.

As Jenya Di Pierro, the founder and creative mind behind Cloud Twelve, says: “Where attention goes, energy flows.” This Chinese wisdom perfectly captures the club’s philosophy. “Attention and intention are the strongest tools of healing,” Jenya explains as we talk about one of life’s most important elements – self-recovery.

“What did you start with, and what’s the idea behind the club?” –
“At Cloud Twelve, we bring together physical, mental, and emotional health,” Jenya says. “The club is unique because it’s an oasis where your nervous system can reset and forget about the big city outside — where you can stop ‘sticking’ in stress or depression. The second thing that sets us apart is that we integrate natural medicine. Alongside traditional spa treatments, I’ve added my knowledge of herbs and homeopathy. We focus a lot on longevity and optimising health. I call our system “bioharmony” – a thoughtful, non-invasive process that gives the body time to restore its balance. It’s about working with the body, understanding what it’s trying to tell us.”

“We’re all exposed to stress and toxins, and the liver struggles to cope. That’s why it’s important to support your health continuously, not with ‘shock doses’ a couple of times a year. I wanted to create a wellness community where people could manage the impact of modern life. Membership includes biohacking, thermal areas, and spa access. Treatments are suitable for everyone, but I always give personal recommendations – whether someone needs a sauna or a salt room, for example.”

So I decided to start with the treatments my body was asking for today.

The Cocoon: awakening cellular energy

The Cocoon is not just therapy – it’s a true inward journey. You lie down, get wrapped in an infrared “blanket,” and soon a wave of bliss begins to spread through the body. The far-infrared heat penetrates the tissues like gentle sunlight – without the harmful rays. It activates the mitochondria, the body’s tiny “power stations,” and within minutes you feel warmth growing from the inside, muscles relaxing, breathing slowing.

“We all have photoreceptors,” Jenya explains. “Infrared rays penetrate deep into the body and boost mitochondrial function – the cell’s energy source – so it begins to work more efficiently. That’s how the body’s natural healing processes start.”

This warmth renews cells, removes toxins, improves circulation, and raises energy levels. With regular use, The Cocoon stimulates natural rejuvenation, speeds up metabolism and fertility, and helps maintain hormonal balance. It’s more than a physiological effect – it’s a way to return to inner calm, as if you’ve just come back from a seaside holiday.

Infrared sauna: cleansing and detox

“I love infrared treatments,” says Jenya. “In the city, we spend little time outdoors but are constantly exposed to blue light from screens. Infrared light restores the balance built into humans since the Stone Age.”

Cloud Twelve’s infrared sauna is a sleek wooden cabin – a modern alternative to a traditional steam room. There’s no dense steam here, just gentle dry heat that penetrates deep into muscles and joints. It stimulates blood flow, speeds up metabolism, and supports natural detoxification. The sweat produced removes toxins up to seven times more effectively than a regular sauna. The result: stronger immunity, better sleep, and higher energy.

Afterwards you feel lighter – as if a physical and emotional weight has lifted. For city dwellers overloaded with stress and pollution, this is a way to restore harmony and even lose weight through improved metabolism. The sauna gives your body a chance to “exhale” and renew itself, while your mind finally pauses.

Red light & vagus nerve stimulation: activating inner connections

“Red light therapy is a non-invasive way to improve circulation,” Jenya explains. “The scalp receives more oxygen and nutrients, which wakes up the cells. It helps hair grow stronger and thicker, and it clears that so-called “brain fog.””

Red light, with its wavelength of around 650 nanometres, stimulates hair follicles to enter the growth phase – resulting in healthy, shiny hair. More importantly, it calms the mind – as if the brain finally stops rushing.

Vagus nerve stimulation – which affects everything from breathing and heart rate to digestion, energy, and mood – uses gentle electrical impulses to rebalance the body. You wear a small earpiece, and soft pulses help stabilise emotions, improve focus, and activate natural healing.

Both therapies share one philosophy – bioharmony. They don’t interfere; they remind the body how to function naturally, beyond the stress of the modern world.

Head spa: a ritual for hair and mind

“Before thinking about supplements or extensions, look at your scalp,” Jenya advises. “Very often it’s our follicles that are clogged and need cleansing. I check my scalp regularly, and every time I find new issues. City toxins build up and get trapped – shampoos don’t remove them, and daily washing isn’t good either. You need masks, scrubs, and regular circulation-boosting rituals.”

The Head Spa at Cloud Twelve is more than hair care – it’s a ritual of renewal. The process includes 21 steps, all backed by science and guided by natural philosophy.

It begins with a conversation: how you feel, how your hair reacts to seasons, whether it lacks moisture or shine. Then comes diagnostics – a dermatoscope camera magnifies your scalp on a screen, revealing follicles, pores, and circulation patterns. It’s fascinating to see your own scalp – like a landscape.

A personalised programme follows: oils, clays, herbal infusions. The first mask, usually Brazilian clay, draws out toxins, pollution and stress – you feel warmth and freshness as an invisible weight lifts.

Next comes a rhythmic, meditative massage, targeting energy points and stimulating blood flow. The world fades away – only soft music, the scent of oils, and all your thoughts dissolve in the warmth of skilled hands.

A herbal steam bath follows, with horsetail, sage, and rosemary infusions. The steam opens hair cuticles and fills the space with freshness. After rinsing, a fine “waterfall” of droplets caresses the scalp like summer rain. The hair becomes weightless, supple, and obedient. At the final stage, the therapist applies a weightless oil selected according to the diagnostic results and performs a gentle massage of the face, neck, and décolleté. This isn’t just an extra touch – everything is connected: the facial muscles, scalp, and nerve endings form a single system, and working on one area helps harmonise the others. You leave feeling alive again – light-headed, peaceful, grounded.

The finishing touch is styling by Cloud Twelve’s stylists who “feel” your hair like artists “feel” paint. All products are plant-based, free from harsh chemicals. Afterwards, the hair retains its natural shine and movement. Beauty here doesn’t stand apart from health – it grows out of it.

The Cloud Twelve community

After the treatments, you just want to sit quietly with a cup of herbal tea – no rush, no noise, half-reclined in a soft chair, fully at ease. At Cloud Twelve, you understand: paying attention to yourself is love.

“Have you realised your dream with Cloud Twelve?” I ask Jenya.
“Yes,” she smiles. “We’ve built a real community of like-minded people. Our team is warm and dedicated, and many members know each other – and the staff – by name. Families come here too. Couples often book romantic spa sessions together. Downstairs, we’ve created a children’s area for mothers with little ones. I always tell mums: ‘If you want to be a good mum, you need to be a well-rested mum.’

“And you personally consult clients?”

“Yes. We start with how they feel – stress levels, digestion, their health background, even inherited emotional traumas of previous generations. Then I create individual herbal blends – for the gut, hormones, and more. If needed, we run lab tests.
I have my own herbal pharmacy, and as a phytotherapist I prepare personalised mixtures. Sometimes herbs work better than antibiotics or steroids. Pharmaceutical drugs aren’t always absorbed well – herbs, on the other hand, are recognised by the body as food and can heal faster.
I now treat all health issues with herbs and homeopathy – I’ve seen their power. So we combine spa with natural medicine. Of course, modern medicine is vital in acute cases. But herbs have been used for millennia. The world needs this knowledge – yet it’s disappearing. Pharmaceutical companies suppress it, even banning some herbs to sell more antidepressants and pills.”

Before we part, Jenya says something that stays with me:

“Health has its positive and negative factors. The positive ones are food, rest, sleep, love, movement, pleasure. The negative are infections, toxins, and the absence of joy. When we increase the positive and reduce the negative, the body can heal itself – that’s what natural medicine teaches us.”
